Women's Lacrosse puts on an offensive clinic as they dominate Mount St. Joseph

Women's Lacrosse was firing on all cylinders on the offensive side of the ball in a 19-7 win over Mount St. Joseph. The Muskies combined for 10 assists which set a program record for assists in a game by the team.

Notables

• The contest marked Muskingum's 2024 season-opener.
• As a team the Muskies set the record for most assists in a game with 10. This beat the previous record of nine that was set in the 2022 campaign against Waynesburg.
• Junior Riley Zwagerman climbed to third in career assists after tallying three in the contest. Zwagerman now has 18 total career asissts.
• Junior Riley Hudock tallied eight points in the contest which helped her surpass 100 career points. Hudock also moved to fourth in career ground balls with 86, after today's contest. 

Inside the Numbers

• The Muskies recorded 19 goals, 10 assists, 27 ground balls, 21 draw controls, and seven saves.
• A dynamic duo of junior Riley Hudock and senior Hannah Heyboer led the Muskies, as they both scored five goals in the contest. Hudock added in three assists, five ground balls, and 12 draw controls. Heyboer added in two assists, three caused turnovers, and five ground balls. 
• Junior Megan Lang tallied a four goal performance and helped cause one turnover.
• Freshman MJ Rupp and junior Haley Clifton each logged two goals. Rupp added in one assist and two ground balls. Clifton notched two ground balls.
• Sophomore Kasi Tully scored once to round out the Muskie offense.
• Junior Riley Zwagerman dished out three assists and snagged four ground balls. Zwagerman also won six draw controls and caused four turnovers.
• Junior Kennedy Norch recorded one assist and grabbed two ground balls.
• Freshman Amanda Charness secured three draw controls and grabbed a ground ball. Charness also caused two turnovers.
• Freshman Ash Dean recorded seven saves in the contest for the Muskies.
• Mount St. Joseph recorded seven goals, zero assists, 29 ground balls, nine draw controls, and 15 saves.
• The Lions were led by Abby Cole and Chirly Gillman who each scored three goals.
