The Muskingum women's soccer team fell short in a close battle to OAC-foe Marietta Wednesday evening, 2-1.
The Basics

How it Happened
- Marietta opened up the scoring at the 14:37 mark off an Anna Bardwell strike.
- The Muskies retaliated two minutes later from a header off a corner kick from Marysa Starcher. The goal was assisted by Madison Yenke.
- The first half saw both squads deadlocked 1-1 going into the break.
- The Pioneers scored the final goal of the contest at the 62:35 mark from Anna Bardwell to secure a 2-1 home victory.
Inside the Numbers
- The Muskingum attack was led by Freshman Marysa Starcher who tallied a goal and a team-high five shots.
- Sophomore Madison Yenke chipped in an assist and finished with three shots on the night.
- Sophomore Morgan Meisel, senior Monique Reil, and freshman Britney Herrick rounded out the Muskingum offensive effort with one shot apiece.
- Junior Kelly Buck registered seven saves in 90 minutes of work between the pipes for the Muskies.
- Anna Bardwell led the Pioneer offense with two goals.
- Marietta goalkeeper Madison Miller snagged four saves in 90 minutes of work in goal.
