Muskingum women's lacrosse delivered a historic performance on Friday afternoon, tying the program record for goals in a game while also recording the first shutout in program history in a dominant 23-0 victory over Sweet Briar.
The Muskies came out firing early, scoring nine goals in the opening quarter and never looking back. Muskingum controlled the pace throughout the contest, outshooting Sweet Briar 40-7 and finishing with 23 ground balls while limiting the host Vixens to just four shots on goal.
Offensively, the Muskies showcased a balanced attack with nine different goal scorers, led by a standout performance from Maria Decaminada, who played a role in eight goals. Muskingum continued to build its lead each quarter on the way to tying the program's single-game scoring mark.
Defensively, Muskingum's unit and goalkeepers combined to hold Sweet Briar scoreless, marking the first clean sheet in program history.
