Muskingum Archery Shines at USA Archery Regional
The Muskingum archery team delivered a standout performance at the USA Archery Regional, bringing home multiple championships, team titles, and school records.

Leading the way was sophomore Kelly Hawvermale, who captured the Female Barebow Regional Championship and later joined forces with junior Carlie Ellsworth and junior Jensen LaCroix to secure the Female Barebow Team Championship. Hawvermale also added another gold in the Mixed Equipment Team alongside senior Kylee Brookover and graduate Wes Ellsworth, and paired with junior Gage Kennedy for a runner-up finish in the Barebow Mixed Team.
Brookover also had a stellar outing, earning the Female Compound Regional Championship. She teamed with junior Kaitlyn Oswald and freshman Aria Grissman to place second in the Women's Compound Team, while helping bring home gold in the Mixed Equipment Team.
On the men's side, sophomore Roman Gallitz took third place in Men's Fixed Pins, while also contributing to a Men's Fixed Pin Team third-place finish with Wes Ellsworth and Zeke Rinard, and a Mixed Fixed Pins third-place finish with Samantha Hibbler.
Other podium highlights included:
- Men's Barebow Team – Kennedy, junior Finnegan Duffy, sophomore Carter Takarsh
- Women's Olympic Recurve Team – Junior Trinity Howard, Freshman Emily Rexroad, Freshman Dyna Watiker
- Olympic Recurve Mixed Team – Howard, freshman Calvin Bartolin
The weekend was also historic as the Muskies set three new school records:
- Trinity Howard, Olympic Recurve – 348 with four 12's
- Kylee Brookover, Compound – 426 with fifteen 12's
- Roman Gallitz, Fixed Pins – 433 with twenty-three 12's
Notable finishes included Carlie Ellsworth (4th, Women's Barebow) and Wes Ellsworth (4th, Men's Fixed Pins). The Muskies also boasted multiple Top 10 performances, highlighted by Oswald, Grissman, Hibbler, Bartolin, Howard, Rexroad, Watiker, Kennedy, and Takarsh across their respective divisions.
Muskingum will compete next at the USA Archery Collegiate 3D National Championships at Graham Creek Interpretive Center in Foley, Alabama.
