Clayton named volleyball assistant coach
Muskingum volleyball Head Coach Hallie Cruzen announced that Madison Clayton has been named the Assistant Coach for the Muskie volleyball program.
Muskingum volleyball Head Coach Hallie Cruzen announced that Madison Clayton has been named the Assistant Coach for the Muskie volleyball program. Clayton arrives at Muskingum after most recently serving as a graduate assistant for West Liberty's volleyball program.
While at West Liberty, Clayton provided one-on-one instruction with student-athletes during practices, matches, and weight lifting sessions; managed the team's social media accounts; handled all event planning for the program; and assisted in recruiting efforts as well. Outside of college coaching, Clayton also serves as a coach for the Club Gold South program out of St. Clairsville, Ohio. Clayton's duties included serving as the head coach for the club's 16 Gold Regional Volleyball Team, developing all practice plans for the club, and instructing athletes on proper skill development.
Outside of coaching, Clayton was also a standout student-athlete on West Liberty's volleyball team. Clayton accumulated multiple awards including AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades, Division II CCA All-America Honorable Mention honors, she was selected to the AVCA All-Region First Team, the Division II CCA All-Region First Team, and the All-Mountain East Conference First Team as well.
Clayton earned her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from West Liberty in 2021.
