Cruzen named OAC Coach of the Year and Fatheree honored with Player of the Year to highlight multiple All-OAC accolades
Muskingum volleyball head coach Hallie Cruzen was named OAC Volleyball Coach of the Year, and senior Brooke Fatheree was honored with OAC Sheila Wallace-Kovalchik Volleyball Player of the Year to highlight multiple All-OAC accolades.
Muskingum volleyball head coach Hallie Cruzen was named OAC Volleyball Coach of the Year, and senior Brooke Fatheree was honored with OAC Sheila Wallace-Kovalchik Volleyball Player of the Year to highlight multiple All-OAC accolades.
Cruzen led the Muskies to their second straight OAC title and their first outright OAC Regular Season Championship since 1999. Muskingum compiled an overall record of 16-2 and earned hosting rights for the OAC Tournament. This marks the second time (2018) that Cruzen has earned Coach of the Year honors. This season, Cruzen notched her 100th career win for the Muskies after winning the opening match against Marietta.
Fatheree and senior outside hitter Maddie McGee earned First Team All-OAC, while junior setter Erin Dickson and sophomore middle hitter Emma Dunham were named Second Team All-OAC.
Fatheree captured her fourth straight All-OAC honor and third straight First Team selection. She is the first Muskie since Annie Rome (1999) to win OAC Volleyball Player of the Year. She leads the Muskies defensively with 295 digs averaging 4.84 digs per set. She also has notched 132 kills averaging 2.16 kills per set, and has added 43 assists. Fatheree also earned OAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week during the season. She currently ranks fourth all-time in program history with 1,250 kills and eighth all-time in digs with 1,470.
McGee collected her second straight All-OAC honor after leading the Muskies offense with 227 kills averaging 3.39 kills per set. She has also notched 132 digs and was coined OAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season. McGee currently ranks second in the OAC in kills and kills per set.
Dickson earned her third straight All-OAC accolade, helping guide the Muskie attack with 388 assists averaging 9.09 assists per set. She ranks third all-time for Muskingum in career assists with 3,336.
Dunham collected her first All-OAC honors tallying 149 kills averaging 2.53 kills per set, and is second in the OAC in hitting percentage with .388.
