McAdams qualifies for Nationals in 10K
Muskingum women's outdoor track & field senior Macy McAdams qualified for the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships to be held May 27-29 at the Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Muskingum women's outdoor track & field senior Macy McAdams qualified for the 2021 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships to be held May 27-29 at the Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, North Carolina.
McAdams will enter the 10,000-meter championship field ranked seventh in the nation. She set the new school record in the 10,000-meter run earlier this season with a time of 35:58.68 at the OAC Elite Meet where she finished first in the event. She broke the previous record of 38:15.10 that was held by Harriett Schneid in 1992.
She also set the school record for the 5,000-meter run at the OAC Championships where she earned All-OAC honors finishing second with a mark of 17:26.19. She broke the previous record of 18:00.33 that was set by Julie Fobes in 2017.
For each men's individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 17 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 19 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 14 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
The final for the women's 10,000-meter run will be on Thursday, May 27, and will begin at 8:30 p.m.
