Muskingum women finish third at Muskie Meet #3
The Muskingum women’s track and field team recorded several top-eight finishes Saturday at Muskie Meet #3 inside the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
The Muskingum women's track and field team recorded several top-eight finishes Saturday at Muskie Meet #3 inside the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.
On the track, sophomore Mea Kaufman placed fourth in the 60 meters (8.16). In the 400 meters, freshman Kylee Pudder finished second in 1:05.74, while junior Shannon Cooper added a fourth-place finish in 1:08.66.
Senior Abigail Derry turned in a strong effort in the 1,000 meters, finishing fourth in 3:12.34. Junior Averi Schwendeman followed with an eighth-place finish in the mile (5:54.50).
Muskingum also earned multiple top-eight finishes in the field events.
Junior Marissa Hill captured the high jump title, clearing 1.58 meters. Freshman Taylor Hallock placed fifth, freshman Jocelyn Pomeroy finished sixth, and freshman Japleen Dhaliwal added a seventh-place finish in the same event.
In the pole vault, freshman Jocelyn Shardell recorded a sixth-place finish with a best mark of 2.49 meters.
In the shot put, junior Jessica Dotson placed fourth with a throw of 11.38 meters, while sophomore Kendra Monnin-Lee finished seventh.
The Muskies added three more top-eight finishes in the weight throw as senior Avrie O'Neil placed third (15.61m), senior Kylie Andres finished fourth (15.21m), and sophomore Kendra Monnin-Lee earned her second top-eight performance of the meet with a seventh-place finish.
Muskingm next competes at the Dension Bob Shannon Invitational on Saturday, February 7.
