The Muskingum Athletic Department is proud to welcome Cameron Timok as the new head coach of the Muskingum Wrestling program.

Timok joins the Muskies after a strong two-year run as an assistant coach at John Carroll University, where he helped guide the Blue Streaks to an 18-9 overall record and an 8-6 mark in the Ohio Athletic Conference. At JCU, he was involved in every facet of the program—from running practices and training sessions to overseeing recruiting efforts and fundraising initiatives. He also played a key role in supporting the overall well-being of the student-athletes.

"The hiring of Coach Timok as our Head Wrestling Coach is a huge splash for our student-athletes and for our department," said Muskingum Director of Athletics Kari Winters. "Cameron is extremely relatable; he has experience at every championship level and has a tremendous recruiting resume.  We are really excited to welcome him and his wife to Muskingum Athletics.  The future of our program just got brighter, and we are really looking forward to watching him get to work and turn his vision into a reality!"

Before his time at John Carroll, Timok spent three seasons at West Liberty University, first as a graduate assistant and later as head assistant coach. During his tenure, West Liberty captured three Mountain East Conference Championships and won the NCAA Division II Super Region 3 title. He supported the head coach with practices, training, and competitions, including tournaments and nationals. His role included designing workouts, running lifts, and overseeing strength and conditioning. He helped with fundraising, marketing, and administrative tasks like equipment upkeep and travel coordination. Timok also led private sessions, video reviews, and managed weight plans. He assisted with team social media, recruiting, and regularly checked in with athletes to support their overall well-being while ensuring NCAA compliance. Timok earned a Master of Education in Sports Leadership and Coaching from West Liberty.

"I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to be the head wrestling coach here at Muskingum," said Timok. "Thank you to the administration for believing in my vision and taking a chance on me. I'm excited to get to work and grow this program to its fullest potential - together, we're just getting started."

Timok started his coaching career at Virginia Military Institute. At VMI, he assisted the head coach with organizing, preparing, and leading individual and team practices, training sessions, and competitions. He also helped design workout programs and training routines to enhance athletic performance.

Timok wrestled at Central College in Iowa, where he compiled a 72-12 career record and earned NCAA Division III All-American honors twice in the 125 and 133-pound weight classes. He was a two-time All-Iowa Conference honoree and an American Rivers Conference First Team selection, as well as being awarded Iowa Conference Male Athlete of the Week and Wrestler of the Week accolades. He graduated with a BS in exercise science.

A Richmond, Virginia, native, Timok had an outstanding high school career. He was the 2013 Virginia state champion, finishing with a 40-2 senior season record.
