Sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. led the way with a fourth-place finish at 285 pounds, narrowly missing a berth to the NCAA Wrestling Championships. Edwards wrapped up the tournament with a 3-2 record, highlighted by one fall, one major decision, and one decision. He dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision in the third-place bout to Nicholas Cook of Roanoke.
Freshman Wyatt Opferbeck continued to show promise in the 157-pound bracket, placing eighth after posting a 3-3 record. Opferbeck recorded two falls and one decision during his run through the tournament, gaining valuable postseason experience in his first regional appearance.
Junior Lee Zoganas also earned an eighth-place finish in the 141-pound class. Zoganas finished the weekend with a 3-3 mark that included one fall, one decision, and one medical forfeit.
The three-place showing marks an important milestone for the Muskies and reflects the continued growth of the program, as Muskingum placed three wrestlers at the regional championships for the first time in six seasons.
