Edwards Jr. and Opferbeck place in season opening tournament at Mount Union Invitational
Muskingum wrestling sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. and freshman Wyatt Opferbeck placed 2nd and 5th in their respective classes at the Mount Union Invitational.

Muskingum wrestling sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. and freshman Wyatt Opferbeck placed 2nd and 5th in their respective classes at the Mount Union Invitational.
Edwards placed 2nd in his class of 285, and Opferbeck placed 5th in his class of 157. The Muskies finished 10th out of 14 teams, scoring a total of 34.5 team points. Gannon won the event with a team score of 182.5.

On the Mat
- Sophomore Robert Edwards Jr. led the Muskies with a second-place finish in his weight class of 285 at the Mount Union Invitational. Edwards went 3-1 on the day and tallied 18 team points. In his first match, he received a bye and then won by a pin over Michael Hopson of Hiram, 2-0. In match 3, Edwards won by decision over Thomas Lunt of John Carroll, 2-1. Edwards won by decision over Troy Dyszkiewicz of Ohio Northern, 3-2. In the first-place match, Gavin Harper of Wheeling won by a pin, giving Edwards a second-place finish.
- Freshman Wyatt Opferbeck placed 5th in the weight class of 157. He went 2-2 on the day, winning matches against Ryan Foster of Ohio Northern by pin and then by decision over Jack Probasco of Gannon.
- Junior Lee Zoganas went 1-2 on the day, winning a match by major decision against Chase Morgan of John Carroll in the 141 weight class.
- Freshman Breyden Hill went 1-2 on the day, winning a match by decision of Niko Kalamaras of John Carroll in the 174 weight class.
- Senior Caden Kenworthy went 1-2 on the day, winning a match by major decision over Jack Coughlin of John Carroll in the 184-pound weight class.
