Wrestling competes at Waynesburg Invite

The Muskingum wrestling team placed 14th at the Waynesburg Invite on Saturday evening.

Freshman Tanner Donathan picked up a victory in the 149 weight class by fall over Colton Kanyo from Adrian in 1:25, while freshman Corey Loera earned a win in the same weight class by fall over Scott Hampton of Adrian in 6:07.

Sophomore Carter Layton went 3-2 in the 174 weight class. He won by a 5-0 decision over Jonathan Vough of Alvernia, won by a 5-1 decision over Damani Wallace of Adrian, and won by fall over Michael Carioscia from Gettysburg College in 1:01.

Freshman Noah DeHainaut went 2-2 in 285 weight class at the invite. He won by a 5-2 decision over Russ Pierce of Apprentice and picked up a win by fall over Andrew Verscharen of Washington and Jefferson in 3:08. 

The Muskies next compete at the Thomas More Invite on Tuesday, January 7. The matches are set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
