Decaminada and Davis earn OAC Players of the week
Senior midfielder Maria Decaminada and freshman midfielder Lindsay Davis took home the OAC Player of the week awards for Offense and Defense in Women's Lacrosse. Decaminada earned the offensive award with 5 goals and 3 assists on the week. Davis earned the defensive award with 12 draws controled and 4 ground balls.
The Muskies first played Chatham on Wednesday, dropping that contest 17-5. Decaminada poured in a career-high 4 goals on 8 shots. Decaminada also had 3 draw controls and 2 ground balls in the contest. Davis added the other goal for the Muskies on 2 shots. Davis also racked up 3 draw controls and and 3 ground balls along with 1 caused turnover.
In game two, the Muskies defeted Allegheny 11-10 in an overtime thriller. Decaminada was conducting the offense with 3 assists and also added a goal. Decaminada had back to back games with 4 points. Decaminada also contributed to the defensive side of the ball with 5 draw controls, 4 caused turnovers and 1 ground ball. Davis helped on the offensive side of the ball with a goal and 2 assists. Defensively, Davis was a force at the center circle with 9 draw controls along with 1 ground ball and 1 caused turnover.
Decaminada and Davis both had outstanding weeks leading the Muskies to a 1-1 record and contributing all over the field.
The Muskies will be back in action on Wednesday, February 25 when they will host Bethany at the BHWC. First draw is set for 5PM with Decaminada and Davis looking to add to this feat.
