Coach Connor Records 100th Career Win as Taylor Sets the Career Doubles Mark
The Muskingum softball team traveled to Wilmington on Saturday afternoon for an OAC doubleheader. The Muskies swept the Quakers as Head Coach Liana Connor reached 100 career wins. Senior Cara Taylor also set a Muskingum softball record for most doubles in a career, with 52 and counting.

How it Happened
Game One: Muskingum - 4, Wilmington - 1
The Muskies got the scoring going in the 3rd inning, going up 2-0 with Bethany Rodman's 2-run homer. Wilmington responded in the 4th inning, scoring a run, but that's all they got. The Muskie pitched shut the Quakers out the rest of the day. Muskingum put their final two runs on the board in the 5th inning from some impressive base running of Kasey Timko and Payton Hochradel, scoring off of a wild pitch, and an overthrown ball on a steal.
Game Two (6 innings): Muskingum - 11, Wilmington - 0
The Muskies got the scoring going early in this one, scoring 4 runs in the 1st inning. The game stayed at 4-0 for a couple of innings before the Muskies tacked on one more run in the 3rd inning. The Muskies exploded in the 6th inning, scoring 6 runs. Senior Cara Taylor had her record-setting double in this inning, which scored Cora Moine and Aimee Heasley. This was the final inning, giving the Muskies the 11-0 win.
Hightlights
Game One:
- Senior Bethany Rodman had a 2-run homer in the 3rd inning. Rodman went 1 for 2 at the plate.
- Freshman Payton Hochradel had 2 hits on 3 at bats and scored 2 runs for the Muskies.
- Freshman Taylor Brown went 1 of 3 at the plate and recorded a double.
- Junior Tareyn Born started on the mound and pitched 4 innings and allowed 1 run on 3 hits giving her the win.
- Freshman Lillian Fillippinie came in relief for the Muskies and had 2 strikeouts with no runs given up, which earned her the save.
- The Muskies scored 4 runs on 5 hits with 23 at bats. The Muskies had 2 RBIs, a home run, and a double.
Game Two:
- Senior Cara Taylor, Senior Bethany Rodman, and Sophomore Hannah Gurich each recorded 2 RBIs for the Muskies. Rodman also recorded 2 hits on 4 at bats with a double.
- Taylor recorded a double in the 6th inning to give her the program record for career doubles. Taylor also scored 2 runs.
- Senior Bethany Rodman pitched a complete game shutout in 6 innings and had 4 strikeouts.
- The Muskies scored 11 runs on 10 hits with 34 at bats. The Muskies tallied 8 RBIs and three doubles.
