Muskies Jump to #18 in Recent NFCA/GoRout D3 Top 25 Poll

With more than half the season complete, the Muskies stand at 21-5 overall, and 6-2 in conference play. The Muskies have been dominant on the road with a 12-2 record.  Through the first 26 games of the season, Muskingum has been one of the most productive offensive teams in the region while also getting consistent production in the circle.

The Muskies are hitting .346 as a team with 268 hits and 184 runs scoring in 26 games. They have a .404 on base percentage and a slugging percentage of .486. The Muskies have produced 62 doubles, 8 triples, and 10 home runs. 

Senior standout Cara Taylor has been the catalyst of the offense. Taylor is hitting an incredible .574 with 54 hits in 94 at-bats while scoring 40 runs. She has also driven in 25 runs and leads the team with 17 doubles and 4 triples, while posting a .615 on-base percentage and a .872 slugging percentage.

Several other Muskies have provided major offensive support. Sophomore Kasey Timko is batting .380 with 35 hits and a team-high 29 RBIs. Senior Elizabeth Wauford is hitting .341 with 15 hits and 20 RBIs and junior Bethany Rodman is batting .483 with 3 home runs and 21 RBIs.

As a team, Muskingum has also shown its ability to pressure defenses with speed, stealing 40 bases through the first 26 games of the season.

Muskingum's pitching staff has also been a key reason for the team's national ranking. The Muskies hold a 2.99 team ERA and have limited opponents to just a .245 batting average.

Rodman has led the way in the circle, going 9–1 with a 2.85 ERA in 73.2 innings pitched. She has allowed just 63 hits while striking out 34.

Freshman Dani Wright has also been outstanding with a 6–1 record and a 2.18 ERA in 35.1 innings, while Freshman Lillian Fillippinie owns a 1.31 ERA and has gone 2-0 with a save this season. 

The Muskies will return to the diamond on Wednesday, April 15 when they will take on Wooster. Game times are 3:30PM & 5:30PM.
