Zecchini, Connolly, and Showler named CSC Academic All-District

Muskingum men's lacrosse senior Spencer Zecchini, senior Trevor Connolly, and senior Evan Showler were all honored for their academic excellence by being named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

Zecchini, an accounting major, led the OAC in assists (31), was second in points (76) and shots (162), and third in goals (45). He ended his Muskie career with the school records for most points (15) in a game (5 goals and 10 assists), assists in a game (10), most goals in a season (45), most assists in a season (31), and most points in a season (76).

Connolly, a business management and athletics communication double major, finished second in the OAC in saves (208), third in the OAC in save percentage (58.1%), and fourth in the OAC with goals-against average (10.10). He started all 17 games in goal, recorded 208 saves, and snared 59 ground balls.

Showler, a criminal justice major, helped anchor the Muskie defense with 16 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.

To be nominated for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be a starter or significant contributor to their team, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and reach sophomore athletic and academic standing at the school.
