Men's Golf ready to compete at OAC Championships

The Muskingum men's golf team is ready to compete at the OAC Championships. The event starts on Friday, April 30, and goes through Sunday, May 2, at River Greens Golf Club.
Head Coach: Fifth-year head coach Joe Puch leads the Muskies. Puch led the men's golf program to three first-place finishes this season and coached several players to top finishes in the spring 2021 campaign. On the golf course, Puch is an accomplished competitor claiming three straight Zanesville CC Club Championships (2018, 2019, 2020), the 2018-19 ZCC Bob Rankin Match Play Championship, and is a four-time Greater Cleveland Amateur Qualifier. Moreover, Puch won the 2019 CDGA Tournament of Champions at Columbus CC, finishing with a 70 (-2).
The Players: Muskingum is led by senior Brenton Franks, who has played in all nine events and averages a team-best score of 76.8. Franks finished first in the Muskingum Spring Invite in March, shooting an even-par of 72. He shot his season-best score of 71 at the Purple and White Invite, where he finished third. Franks is an OAC Golfer of the Week honoree.
Freshman Cameron Henry played in all nine events averaging a score of 77.4, and saw his best finish placing second at the Muskingum Spring Invite #2 with a season-best score of 71. Senior Preston Yeater also played in all nine events and averages a score of 80.7. He saw his best finish at the Pioneer Classic when he shot a season-best 70 and notched a second-place finish.
Freshman Ethan Miller competed in all nine tournaments and averages a score of 81.6. He tied for sixth at the Muskingum Spring Invite, notching a score of 77, while senior Caleb Barnette played in all nine events averaging a score of 83.20, and had his best finish placing first at the Polar Bear Classic, shooting a season-best 71. Barnette earned OAC Golfer of the Week accolades for his first-place finish.
The Schedule: The three-day event will begin on Friday, April 30, through Sunday, May 2. The event will take place at River Green Golf Club and will be hosted by Muskingum University. Tee times on Friday will begin at 11:00 a.m., while for Saturday and Sunday, the tee times will begin at 10:30 a.m.
