Franks named OAC Men's Golfer of the Week

The Ohio Athletic Conference has named Muskingum senior men's golfer Brenton Franks the OAC Men's Golfer of the Week after his outstanding performances this past weekend.

Franks won medalist honors out of a 35-golfer field at the Muskingum Spring Invitational at Zanesville Country Club on Monday. He logged a score of 72 to lead the Muskingum men's golf team to a first-place finish and their first team win since 2003. He carded the lone eagle of the event and had three birdies. Franks led the field in par 3 scoring (-1) and par 5 scoring (-2).

On Saturday, he finished tied for seventh out of a 37-golfer field in Muskingum's season opener, shooting a 76 at the Pioneer Classic at Lakeside Golf Course.

On Sunday, Franks notched second out of a 38-golfer field at the Pioneer Classic held at the River Greens Golf Course, logging a score of 75.

He finished the weekend shooting an average score of 74.3, while earning three top-ten finishes for Muskingum.

The Muskies next compete at the Capital Invitational on Saturday, March 27. The event takes place at Royal American Golf Course.
