Lehn, Moravcik, Wildenmann lead the Muskie Men to an 8th place finish at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout.
In another early-season test, the Muskingum men traveled to Indianapolis for the Columbia 300 Western Shootout. The Muskies put in a solid showing, coming away with an 8th-place finish out of a 29-team field.

Saturday was the team portion of the tournament, featuring 6-team games. So. Jacob Lehn continued his hot start to the season with a 14th-place finish, individually averaging 215.7 for the 6 games. Sr. Brody Wildenmann was solid once again, averaging 206.8 for his 6 games. Fr. Jacob Moravcik came off the bench with an outstanding 221.25 average for 4 games. About his performance, Moravcik said, "I was pretty satisfied with my performance. I was given an opportunity I was waiting for, and I took it and ran with it." Rebounding from a rough game 2, the Muskies used a big 1137 game to rebound, leaving the team in 12th place after day 1.
The Muskies started the 16 Baker games on Sunday off strong, striking on their first 7 shots en route to a 262 game out of the gate. Jr. Talon Newton put in a clutch performance, striking on his first nine shots in the leadoff spot. Wildenmann showed his senior leadership by anchoring the team. The Muskies' strong performance in bakers enabled the team to finish 8th, ahead of the top 2 teams in the national power rankings, Wisconsin-Whitewater and Indiana Tech.
"Overall, I was pleased with our performance this weekend. We're starting to find out who we are as a team and what we do well. We have some exceptional talent on this team, combining experience with youth, we have the potential to be a special team," Coach David Jones said.
When asked about his opportunity, Moravcik responded, "I feel I'm handling my increased role very well and evaluating what needs to be done to help my team win".
Next Saturday kicks off the start of conference play for the Ohio Bowling Conference at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace at 10 am.
