Davis Receives Postseason Accolades to Close Standout Career
Senior Duane Davis was named to the NABC All-District 7 Second team along with D3hoops.com All-Region 7 Third Team.
Muskingum Men's Basketball Senior guard Duane Davis caps off an incredible career at Muskingum by being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches(NABC) All-District 7 Second team and D3hoops.com All-Region 7 Third team. Davis is the first Muskie since Marcus Dempsey in the 2019-20 season to receive these Honors.
Davis put together a dominant senior season, ranking second in the OAC in scoring with a career-high 18.9 points per game. He eclipsed 1,500 points for his Muskingum basketball career. Davis set a new career-high of 33 points twice this season, both against rival Marietta. Davis scored more than 30 points 4 times this season. Davis posted an efficient 54.6 FG% on the year, which ranks second in the OAC. Davis also ranked second in the conference in steals per game with 2.0 per game and a total of 53 this year. Davis stuffed the stat sheet this year with 492 points, 108 rebounds, 51 assists, 53 steals, and 12 blocks, cementing his status as one of the best guards in the OAC and one of the best players to come through Muskingum. Davis finished his Muskingum career with a total of 1501 points, a 50.8 FG%, 498 rebounds, 213 assists, 141 steals, and 25 blocks in 101 career games played. Davis finished as a 2-time All-OAC First Teamer, along with an All-OAC Honorable Mention nod, and 3 OAC Player of the Week honors.
The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division III.
