The Muskingum Men's Basketball team is still earning recognition in the D3Hoops.com Top 25, even after a close loss to now #9 ranked Mount Union last Saturday. The Muskies received 9 votes this week heading into a midseason non-conference matchup against Allegheny this evening.
The Muskies have started the season 8-1 and are 2-1 in the conference. The Muskies have taken down Carnegie Mellon (75-74), Transylvania (92-81), Asbury (81-77), La Roche (94-67), Westminster (72-64), Earlham (82-72), Capital (95-78), and Baldwin Wallace (80-61).
The Muskies have been averaging 83.7 points per game on 46.8% shooting from the field and 34.0% from three-point range. Muskingum is currently pulling down 36.8 rebounds a game and dishing out 13.7 assists per game.
Senior Duane Davis is leading the way for the Muskies, averaging 21.8 points and Junior Owen Emig is not far behind, averaging 18.1 points a game.
The Muskies will be back in action tonight, December 16, for a non-OAC matchup against Allegheny. The Muskies will be looking for revenge as they lost to the Gators last season.
