Bio

Mark Rider rejoined the Muskingum Baseball Staff in the summer of 2021. Rider was previously on staff from 1997-1999.

Rider ’88, boasts a memorable coaching career at the high school level, as an intervention specialist and athletic director for 17 years. Rider was the head baseball coach at John Glenn High School from 1989-1996, then again from 2000-2003. He then was the Athletic Director at John Glenn from 2003-2008 and during that time was the assistant baseball coach at John Glenn.

From 2009-2021, he was the Athletic Director at Maysville High School.

Rider was also an MLB area scout for the Cincinnati Reds from 1998-2002.

Rider is currently an intervention specialist at Cambridge High School and is the defensive coordinator for the Bobcats Football Team.

Rider was a 4-year member of the baseball team, where he was an honorable mention Academic OAC selection his senior year and was a .323 career hitter, with 46 career appearances on the mound, a 4.17 career ERA, and 12 saves, a program record. He was also a member of the MACE Club during his time at Muskingum.

Rider, a Zanesville native, graduated from Muskingum in 1988 with a degree in history with a K-12 certification as an Intervention Specialist.
