Palmieri & Roshau Earn OAC Players of the Week
Muskingum Baseball Senior's Sam Palmieri and Jake Roshau have been named OAC Players of the week for their impressive play. Palmieri earned hitter of the week for his impressive 4 home run, 11 RBI week. Roshau was stellar on the mound, pitching 8.2 innings, giving up 2 runs, and striking out 10 in 2 appearances. The Muskies went a perfect 4-0 over the week, sweeping Capital and defeating Wilmington on Senior Day.
In game one of the Muskies Sweep over Capital, Palmieri was a force at the plate recording 2 home runs on 4 of 6 at bats with 7 RBIs and a double. Palmieri also scored 5 runs himself.
Roshau made his first appearance this week in releif of game one, pitching 2.2 innings. Roshau recorded 4 strikeouts, walked 1, and only gave up 2 hits.
On Senior Day, these Muskie seniors shined. Palmieri homered in both games against the Quakers. He went a combined 3 for 7 at the plate over the doubleheader. On the day, Palmieri recorded 3 hits, along with 4 RBIs.
Roshau started on the mound in game one against Wilmington. Roshau threw 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits. Roshau fired in 6 strikeouts, and had an ERA of 1.50 on the afternoon.
With these seniors' leading them to a 4-0 week in OAC play, the Muskies have positioned themselves closer to an OAC Tournament appearance.
The Muskies return the the field on Thursday, April 30 when they will travel to #8 Mount Union for a doubleheader matchup. Game times are set for 1:00PM & 4:00PM.
