After three scoreless innings, both teams broke through in the fourth with Baldwin Wallace plating three runs before Muskingum answered with three of their own to even things up. The game stayed tight the rest of the way, with strong pitching on both sides, until Baldwin Wallace edged ahead 4–3 in the seventh. Muskingum responded in the eighth to tie it, forcing extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, the Muskies put together the winning rally as sophomore Olly Schrader delivered the walk-off hit with two outs to secure the 5-4 victory.
