Baseball earns wins against Otterbein
The Muskingum baseball team earned wins against the Otterbein Cardinals in OAC action on Saturday afternoon. The Muskies saw a dominant performance from graduate student Erik Cover in game one, where Cover went all nine innings for the complete game in a 5-1 win. In game two, the Muskies used a clutch eighth-inning rally to pull away from the Cardinals with a 9-5 score.

- With today's win, Muskingum has reached the most wins since the 2001 season, when the Muskies won a school record 28 games.

Game One
- The Muskies scored five runs on 10 hits while adding five RBIs and five walks.
- Cover led the Muskies with a complete game performance on the mound. Cover went all nine innings while only allowing one run and striking out six batters. Cover moved to 6-2 on the season with the win today on the mound.
- Senior Weston Melick fired off an impressive two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored in his action in the game. Melick was responsible for a home run in the bottom of the fourth to help extend the Muskies' lead at the time.
- Senior Tobie Teke accounted for two hits and one run scored. Teke also tallied two stolen bases in his time on the base path for Muskingum.
- Junior Sam Palmieri finished with two hits, one RBI, and one run scored. Palmieri knocked a double to left center in the contest.
- Sophomore Aiden Reis tallied two hits and one RBI. Reis also launched a double in the game.
- Sophomore Benny Hess and junior Jackson Duchesne each added a hit.

- Muskingum finished with nine runs on eight hits while walking six times.
- Sophomore Conner Thamann and freshman Lex Castaneda each led the Muskies with two hits. Thamann added a RBI and Castaneda added a run scored.
- Sophomore Grant Mellerson recorded one hit, one RBI, and two runs scored. Mellerson was walked once and stole a base.
- Teke had one hit and scored twice.
- Junior Mike Davis had one hit and one run scored.
- Reis tallied one hit and one RBI.
- Melick and freshman Daelyn Jarman both had one RBI and one run scored.
- Junior Joey Eurez scored a run.
- Sophomore Gavin Schultz got the start on the mound. Schultz struck out two batters and walked one in his four innings of work.
- Freshman Jake Valentine put together five innings of action on the mound in relief, where he struck out four batters while not allowing a run. Valentine earned the win and moved to 6-1 on the season.

- Muskingum will be back in action on Tuesday, April 29, when they take on Marietta at 7:00 p.m. The non-conference matchup will be the third time the Muskies have faced the Pioneers this season and is slated to be played at Marietta.
