The Muskingum baseball team was once again honored with recognition in the most recent NCAA Division III Baseball Coaches Poll and D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll. The Muskies received eight votes in the NCAA Division III Baseball Coaches Poll and 22 votes in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll.

The Muskies have put together an impressive 18-4 record through the first half of the season while they have tallied an impressive 217 runs, on 258 hits, with 190 RBI's.
In their most recent action they bested OAC rival Marietta at home. The Muskies won game one against the Pioneers by a score of 2-1 while being led by freshman pitcher Jake Valentine. Valentine went all nine innings as he recorded the complete game with five strikeouts and only three hits allowed. In game two, the Muskies got the bats heated up in the bottom of the fourth inning where they posted five runs to jump on top of the Pioneers. Senior Tobie Teke led the Muskies in game two with three hits and helped fuel the Muskies in the fourth inning as he was responsible for a two-RBI hit to close out the inning's scoring for Muskingum. The Muskies would continue to inch away from the Pioneers and pull out the 8-5 win.
Offense has come easy for the Muskies as they have posted a .330 team batting average while adding an on-base percentage of .447 and slugging percentage of .485. As a team they have racked up 12 home runs, 13 triples, and 59 doubles this season.
On the mound, the Muskies pitching rotation have posted a 4.81 ERA while holding opponents to a .275 batting average.
Muskingum will be back in action on Saturday, April 5, when they host Ohio Northern. The OAC doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. and the game will be a Cambridge Youth Baseball Day.
The Muskies will then travel to take on Kenyon in non-conference action on Sunday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m.
